Men are often not comfortable participating in diversity events because they are unsure of their role or concerned about saying something wrong. Ray focuses on the engagement of men and the unique male perspective in inclusion and hierarchy. Ray meets men where they are, devoid of shame and blame. Ray recognizes that there are five states of men in most organizations and can address each of them:
- Some men feel threatened by DEI efforts
- Some men don’t feel included
- Some are afraid to say/do wrong thing
- Some men want to be part of the solution but don’t know what to do
- A few select men are already acting like allies
